SRAM X01 Eagle AXS wireless drivetrain first ride review

Posted by Bike Radar on 19th Feb 2019

The AXS system does seem to work really well, though, and manages to add an air of simplicity to proceedings which I for one really appreciate. There’s still a rear derailleur hanging from the back of your bike, but it’s good to see SRAM has had the foresight to add some safety measures in there to hopefully save it from total destruction.

Ditching the cables also means way less hassle with internal routing for both the rider and frame designer, which is an exciting prospect.

SRAM’s Game-Changing Eagle 1x12 Drivetrain Is Now Wireless

Posted by Bicycling Magazine on 19th Feb 2019

Eagle AXS is SRAM’s best-shifting mountain bike drivetrain.

Shifts are precise and smooth, and very quick. It shifts more efficiently and is more consistent than mechanical-shift Eagle, and shifts better in demanding situations—rough terrain, high torque—as well.

The AXS controller/shifter is very different than SRAM’s mechanical shifter. Enough that it will require a period of experimentation to find your preferred shifter position and adjustment to the new shifting pattern. I tried both the stock button function and its reverse (you can use the AXS app to change the button’s function) and didn’t develop a strong preference for either in my limited time on the group.

First Ride Review: Electronic SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS

Posted by on 19th Feb 2019

The SRAM Eagle AXS sets new standards! Not only in terms of shifting performance but also in terms of simplicity, connectivity and user-friendliness. The setup is a piece of cake and the performance is outstanding, we can’t even imagine the future potential. The drivetrain marks the spearhead of SRAM’s product line-up, which is clearly reflected in the price.
